Anemia is one of the more common blood disorders, in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. As a result, the blood does not transport enough oxygen to the rest of the body. Sickle cell anemia is a type of anemia in which the body produces sickle-shaped (or crescent shaped) red blood cells. Sickle cell anemia is a very painful disease, inherited from both parents.
