SUMMARY:Facebook Live Q&A: Women in STEMM Leadership Roles
DESCRIPTION:The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health hosts a Facebook Live Q&A that will explore the topic of leadership among women in STEMM careers. Issues to be discussed include the role of institutions and mentors in helping to ensure women in STEMM are provided the tools and support needed to excel in leadership roles\, especially if they work in a predominantly male environment or lab. The discussion might also include sex as a biological variable in relation to health disparities\, the fact that women and people of color are often not included proportionately in biomedical research and clinical trials (specifically at the disease-specific level)\, and the lower quality of care some African Americans receive from their doctors and in hospitals. More information and details to come. \nRegister on Facebook\nRegister on Zoom

SUMMARY:Caring for Women During COVID-19: Social Determinants and Disparities
DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 has changed the way we provide care for women. Across specialties and in different practice settings\, providers and patients are adjusting to a new normal. How do we bring preventive services back into focus? What are the benefits and challenges of telehealth? How are social determinants playing out during this pandemic? \nJoin NPWH for a series of conversations about COVID-19 and its impact on women’s healthcare. NPWH Board Member Shawana Moore\, DNP\, MSN\, CRNP\, WHNP-BC and Director of Policy Susan Kendig\, JD\, WHNP-BC\, FAANP\, will discuss changes in practice and policy and share resources for providers caring for women across the lifespan. \nThis free webinar series is non-CE and will be recorded and made available for later viewing. \nWebinar #3: Social Determinants and Disparities \nThe COVID-19 pandemic provided a stark reality check regarding inequities and disparities in health outcomes.  Understanding social and structural determinants of health is essential to working to eliminate health disparities in our communities. Join to discuss the impact of this pandemic on health equity. \nRegister here
