SUMMARY:Environmental Impacts on Women's Health Disparities and Reproductive Health
DESCRIPTION:The NIEHS will host a virtual workshop titled\, “Environmental Impacts on Women’s Health Disparities and Reproductive Health.” The workshop will examine health outcomes related to women and individuals assigned female at birth\, and reproductive environmental health disparities (EHD). \nThe workshop goals are to: \n\nRaise awareness of the impact of structural racism\, racial inequities\, and the environment on adverse women’s reproductive health outcomes often observed in U.S. health disparity populations.\nCreate an opportunity for NIEHS staff to learn more from the community about the current status of EHD and women’s reproductive health and community outreach efforts.\nIdentify knowledge gaps in EHD and women’s reproductive health that can be developed into scientific focus areas within the NIEHS.\n\nThe workshop sessions will include speaker presentations and interactive panel discussions that feature national and local leaders in environmental health disparities research and women’s reproductive health. A post-workshop networking session will be held from 1:15 – 2:15 p.m. on Thursday to allow workshop participants to follow up with speakers and NIEHS staff and scientists. \nThe virtual workshop is free and open to the public.
