SUMMARY:Facebook Live Q&A: Women in STEMM Leadership Roles
DESCRIPTION:The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health hosts a Facebook Live Q&A that will explore the topic of leadership among women in STEMM careers. Issues to be discussed include the role of institutions and mentors in helping to ensure women in STEMM are provided the tools and support needed to excel in leadership roles\, especially if they work in a predominantly male environment or lab. The discussion might also include sex as a biological variable in relation to health disparities\, the fact that women and people of color are often not included proportionately in biomedical research and clinical trials (specifically at the disease-specific level)\, and the lower quality of care some African Americans receive from their doctors and in hospitals. More information and details to come. \nRegister on Facebook\nRegister on Zoom

SUMMARY:Facebook Live Q&A: Women in STEMM Leadership Roles
DESCRIPTION:This Facebook Live Q&A panel discussion hosted by the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health will explore the importance of women\, particularly women of color\, in STEMM leadership roles. The panelists will discuss their research and career paths\, the role of institutions and mentors in helping to ensure women are provided the tools and support needed to excel in leadership roles\, and how increasing the number of women\, especially women of color\, in these roles can help address health disparities and improve quality of care and health outcomes for all. Participants are encouraged to submit questions in these areas during the event and ask for advice on entering and advancing in biomedical and other STEMM careers. \nRegister on Facebook\nRegister on Zoom
