SUMMARY:Increase Women’s Access to Gender Specific Care and Preventative Care
DESCRIPTION:Dive into the new era of healthcare \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPoor access\, increasing levels of maternal morbidity and mortality as well as limited OBGYN care team numbers. Is this the reality for American women? \nWith resources having been directed away from women’s health over the past 3 years due to the global health emergency\, gender specific care access among the female population in North America has drastically worsened year on year\, causing a concerning spike in negative patient outcomes. \nThe time to better support care providers and patients is now. All stakeholders must leverage digital tools to increase interaction between women and their care teams\, as well as maximize the potential remote monitoring initiatives have\, in battling the ‘OB deserts’ crisis. \nTrusted industry leaders sharing powerful\, innovative strategies include: \n\nKari L. Carlson\, Associate Executive Director\, The Permanente Medical Group in Northern California\nDr. Jeremy Cauwels\, Chief Physician\, Sanford Health\nAdriann Combs\, DNP\, AVP\, Clinical Quality Management & Clinical Director – Centre for Maternal Health of the OBGYN Service Line\, Northwell Health\nModerator: Chitra Nawbatt\, Investor & Growth Advisor & Host\, The HLTH Daily Show\n\nThis gathered group of experts in the women’s health space will share the blueprint on how to: \n\nIncrease women’s engagement with their own health by providing higher levels of interaction with their care team via a central platform.\nReduce negative patient outcomes as a result of ‘OB deserts’ and build in-house remote care programs of which cater to women in high-risk situations\, particularly pregnancies\, as well as low risk ones.\nSuccessfully scale out and operate women’s remote care programs across large catchment areas in such a way\, that maternal morbidity and mortality decreases regardless of the lack of OB providers.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nREGISTER

SUMMARY:The Impact of Menopause on Women at Work: A Fireside Chat
DESCRIPTION:An estimated 6\,000 women in the United States reach menopause daily\, with 51 being the average age. For many individuals\, the hormonal changes that take place during the menopause transition are associated with physical and psychological symptoms such as irregular menstrual cycles\, hot flashes\, vaginal dryness\, mood fluctuations\, sleep disruptions\, and cognitive challenges. These highly variable symptoms are commonly misdiagnosed\, resulting in inappropriate management and disruption of day-to-day activities. \nMenopause is a life stage that all women of a certain age will experience\, and their impact on society has significant and far-reaching economic\, social\, and health care implications. With approximately 44% of women in the workforce being older than 45\, menopause symptoms have been reported to affect up to 20% of the U.S. workforce. Increases in retirement age and life expectancy are putting a demand on workplace settings to recognize the impact of menopause on women’s health. \nIn recognition of Labor Rights Week\, the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) hosted a webinar to discuss the challenges that women experiencing menopause symptoms face in the workplace and explore strategies that employers and supervisors can implement to improve workplace environments for midlife and postmenopausal women. \nThis event is free and open to the public. \n Follow the conversation on Twitter at @SWHR and at #SWHRtalksMenopause
