SUMMARY:“Alzheimer’s Disease: Early Detection & Diagnosis Matter” Educational Conference for Health Care Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Many of people see the impact of Alzheimer’s disease firsthand in their personal lives and in clinical practices. An estimated 680\,000 individuals in New York\, New Jersey\, and Connecticut live with Alzheimer’s. Hundreds of thousands more have subjective cognitive decline but have not yet received a definitive diagnosis. \nDelays in detection and diagnosis prevent individuals from accessing vital services and therapeutics that are more effective in the early stages of dementia. Yet\, many individuals who are developing dementia or already have dementia do not receive a diagnosis or an accurate diagnosis\, according to the National Institute on Aging. Studies found more than 50% of patients with dementia had not received a clinical cognitive evaluation by a physician\, and that physicians were unaware of cognitive impairment in more than 40% of their cognitively impaired patients. \nThis interactive educational program will guide you–primary care physicians\, nurses\, and other healthcare professionals–to address current challenges and barriers that you may face due to lack of knowledge and understanding of the disorder. At this event\, you will learn how to conduct cognitive assessments; enhance your understanding of early detection and diagnosis for your older adult patients; approach the topic of brain health and cognitive impairment with your patients; and help you transition this new actionable knowledge into real-world health situations and increase your practice reach. \nLearn More

SUMMARY:Bridging The Menopause Gap: Health\, Equity\, And Empowerment
DESCRIPTION:A silent epidemic affects millions of American women\, resulting in billions in lost wages\, upended careers\, family disruptions\, and emotional chaos. \nJoin U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) in a discussion of the Advancing Menopause Care and Mid-Life Women’s Health Act. They are joined by national advocates who are shining a light on the disparities in menopausal care and women’s mid-life health. They will discuss their bipartisan legislation to boost federal research on menopause and—for the first time—coordinate the federal government’s existing programs related to menopause and mid-life women’s health\, and the working being done on the ground to fill the gaps in women’s mid-life health education\, resources\, and research. \n“The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause” trailer will lead the discussion. “The M Factor” documentary confronts the neglected menopause health crisis\, challenging medical and workplace shortcomings\, and advocating for a revolutionary approach to women’s health in America where she’s prepared for midlife. \nSponsored by Bayer \nLearn More
