Sex After Menopause: A Series of Unfortunate—But Fortunately Addressable—Events

Do you find yourself preferring a Netflix show (a rerun, no less) to a night of intimacy (even with yourself)? Then this Menopause Talk is for you. And Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg, this event’s esteemed speaker, is the one to learn from. A professor, prolific researcher and writer, Dr. Kingsberg’s vast areas of expertise include menopause, female sexual disorders, and the genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Dr. Kingsberg will help attendees understand why your vaginas may be dry, sex painful, your libidos shot, and your orgasms diminished, as well as what you can do to put at least some of the Va back in your Voom.

Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg is the chief of the division of behavioral medicine at MacDonald Women’s Hospital/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Professor in Reproductive Biology, Urology and Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. Her areas of clinical specialization include female sexual disorders, menopause, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, and psychological aspects of infertility.

Dr. Kingsberg’s primary research interests are in treatments for female sexual disorders and genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM). She is an Associate Editor for Sexual Medicine Reviews and sits on the editorial boards of the journals Menopause and Climacteric. She has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters and has co-edited a multidisciplinary textbook on treating female sexual disorders.

Dr. Kingsberg is a past president of The North American Menopause Society and The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. She currently serves as the Advocacy Committee Chair for both of these organizations.
