SWHR Joins 28 National Organizations on Letter to Administration Re: CED Language in White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research Executive Order
The Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) and 28 national organizations submitted a sign-on letter to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Brooks-LaSure and White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research Chair Dr. Carolyn Mazure sharing concerns with CMS’ commitment, as outlined in the March 18 Executive Order on Advancing Women’s Health Research and Innovation, to “strengthen its review process, including through Coverage with Evidence Development guidance.” The signers, while enthusiastic about the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research and appreciative of CMS’ intent to reflect women’s health needs through CED, believe that this path could have unintended consequences on access to care.
