Cardiovascular Disease: The Female Heart Is Vulnerable

In February 2012, Clinical Cardiology published a special issue featuring scholarly manuscripts by expert clinicians/scientists from SWHR’s Cardiovascular Disease Network.

The issue explored several of the topics in SWHR and WomenHeart’s 10Q Report: Advancing Women’s Heart Health through Improved Research, Diagnosis and Treatment, highlighting the major adverse impact of cardiovascular disease in women, identifying actionable items derived from recent research studies, and exploring gaps in our knowledge that require investigation.

The invited expert clinician/scientists included Network members Drs. Noel Bairey Merz, Pamela Ouyang, Leslee Shaw, and Nanette Wenger.
