The Society for Women’s Health Research sent a letter to President Joe Biden, thanking him for his recent appoint of Dr. Janet Woodcock as Acting Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Over her three decades of leadership and field experience, Dr. Woodcock has raised the standard of excellence in drug safety and patient care at the FDA. She has played a lead role in improving the drug review process by making it more open and transparent, while also creating unprecedented opportunities for patient participation and improving drug safety management both within and outside of the agency.

Given her long career as a public health visionary and dedicated civil servant, SWHR is pleased to see Dr. Woodcock named Acting Commissioner of the FDA during a critical time for our nation’s public health.
