SWHR signed onto a letter thanking the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for their unprecedented efforts to responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and for their consideration of the needs of pregnant and lactating people during the COVID-19 vaccination process.
The letter, signed by 18 members of the Coalition to Advance Maternal Therapeutics, praises ACIP for not excluding pregnant and lactating people from ACIP interim recommendations for the use of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines and urges ACIP to make similar recommendations for the Janssen Biotech Inc. COVID-19 vaccine.
