SWHR Comments to NAM on COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation Framework

SWHR provided comments in response to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) “Discussion Draft of the Preliminary Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccine (2020).” In finalizing the discussion draft, SWHR encouraged NAM’s Committee on Equitable Allocation of Vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus to further explain rationale surrounding COVID-19 vaccine allocation policies for pregnant and lactating women. Additionally, SWHR praised the committee for their attention to frontline healthcare workers – of whom 75% are women, and many are individuals of color – as well as high-risk communities, including older adults, people with comorbid conditions, homeless populations, and incarcerated or detained individuals.
