SWHR Letter on Prioritization of Diagnostic Reform

SWHR signed on to a coalition letter to Senators Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Patty Murray (D-WA), as well as to Representatives Greg Walden (R-OR-02) and Frank Pallone (D-NJ-06), regarding the role of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee in laboratory developed test (LDT) and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) reform.

The stakeholder group sending the letter included SWHR, as well as a variety of patient groups and professional societies with interest in LDT and IVD regulation. The letter sent to Senate and House committee leadership expressed support for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) technical support on the Diagnostic Accuracy and Innovation Act discussion draft released by Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO-01) and Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN-08). As a member of the signing stakeholder coalition, SWHR expressed continued interested to working with both House and Senate committee leadership in prioritization of diagnostic reform.
