Understanding Urologic Health in Women Across the Lifespan

  • This event has passed.

October 29, 2014 - October 30, 2014

Women and girls are disproportionately affected by bladder health issues like urinary incontinence and urinary tract infections, which can significantly disrupt daily life. In October 2014, SWHR convened an interdisciplinary scientific roundtable focused on understanding urologic health in women across the lifespan. The roundtable included 15 researchers and clinicians from disciplines ranging including urology, urogynecology, pediatric urology, epidemiology, cellular and molecular biology, genetics, gerontology, and more. This roundtable participants authored a report, Expert Panel Recommendations on Lower Urinary Tract Health of Women Across Their Life Span, published in November 2016 in the Journal of Women’s Health. The roundtable laid the foundation for SWHR’s Network on Urological Health in Women.
