Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease in which tissue that resembles the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside the uterus where it does not belong. These lesions can result in pelvic pain and other symptoms that, for many women, can lead to significant physical, emotional, and financial burdens associated with their endometriosis.
