Claire Garretson is a Communications Intern at SWHR for summer 2024, working with the Policy and Communications Team. She contributes to content creation for social media channels, women’s health news monitoring, and other communications operations such as blog posts and copywriting. Her interests in women’s health care lie especially in the areas of cardiology, maternal and reproductive health, and mental health.
Currently, Garretson is an undergraduate student in the Class of 2025 at Washington College in Maryland, double majoring in Communication & Media Studies and French. She minors in Marketing, Business Management, and European Studies, with the intention of pursuing public relations and advocacy work after graduation. Previously, Garretson worked at GE HealthCare as a Corporate Brand & Digital Marketing Intern under the Head of Global Brand, participating in thought leadership, web design, and social media projects. She is currently conducting research examining the efficacy of current women’s public health communication for the Libby & Douglass Cater Society for Junior Fellows.
