2026 Annual Awards Gala Gallery

The Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) honored leaders for their contributions to advancing women’s health at its 36th Annual Awards Gala last week on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

SWHR presented Women’s Health Visionary Awards to Jenelle Krishnamoorthy, PhD, of Merck & Co (also known as MSD outside the United States and Canada), Kedra Wallace, PhD, of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), and Alex Taylor of Perelel.

Dr. Krishnamoorthy was honored for advancing policy as an industry leader at Merck as well as her tenure on the SWHR Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, MBA, President Emerita of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, presented Dr. Krishnamoorthy’s award.

Dr. Wallace was honored for her contributions to research that aim to improve health outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women, her work in uterine fibroids, and her roles in SWHR’s original uterine fibroids and endometriosis working groups. Basmah Safdar, MD, MSc, with Women’s Health Research at Yale, presented Dr. Wallace’s award.

Taylor was honored for her commitment to improving women’s health through her work at Perelel and for her leadership in building coalitions and elevating women’s health research advocacy. Jennifer Klein, with the Institute of Global Politics at Columbia University, presented Taylor’s award.

Attendees also heard from keynote speaker Seema Yasmin, MD, Director of the Stanford Health Communication Initiative and Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at Stanford University. SWHR President and CEO Kathryn Schubert, MPP, CAE and Erika Miller, JD also gave remarks at the event.

The evening was a wonderful night of celebration, connection, and community. Thank you to all who joined us!
