Julia DeLuca

Communications Associate

As a Communications Associate for the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR), Julia DeLuca (she/her) supports the creation and dissemination of resources and messaging that promote the Society’s mission to advance women’s health through research, advocacy, and education. She works closely with the Senior Director of Communications and other Communications Team staff to develop organizational publications, support SWHR events, conduct outreach efforts, manage website content, and create social media content.

Before her role as a Communications Associate, DeLuca served as a communications intern at SWHR, where she developed a passion for advancing women’s health through accessible and strategic communications initiatives. She later expanded her experience in mission-driven organizations as a marketing and communications intern at the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and as a communications assistant at the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman of the World Bank Group.

DeLuca returned to SWHR with a strong interest in healthy aging, particularly brain health and menopause. Drawing on her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and Organizational Sciences from the George Washington University, she believes in the power of storytelling and that women sharing their health journeys is essential to advancing women’s health research, improving care, and reducing stigma. Passionate about making health information accessible and engaging, she strives to translate complex topics into clear, meaningful communications that empower women and foster informed conversations about the health issues that disproportionately affect them.
