African-Americans and Endometriosis Workshop

  • This event has passed.

October 3, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT

This FREE workshop from local health advocacy group Endo Black, conducted by a Family Nurse Practitioner, eloquently but candidly goes over health equity, the exploitation of black bodies, the barriers of endometriosis outside of the medical field, and why representation matters. This workshop is open to sharing with anyone interested in learning more about endometriosis and African Americans.

Endometriosis is a common disease that affects up to ten percent of women and people with uteruses and can cause severe pain and infertility. Endometriosis occurs when cells similar to the lining of the uterus grow outside the uterus.

Endo Black, Inc. is a black-women-led organization advocating for African American women and women of color living with endometriosis
