The National Academies Committee on Research Priorities for Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias will host a public session on October 2, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET. This provisional committee was formed to support a new consensus study focused on examining the current state of biomedical research aimed at preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) and identifying research priorities and opportunities to catalyze advances across the field. During this public session, representatives from the study’s sponsor, the National Institutes of Health, will provide their perspectives on the statement of task and present an overview of current strategic planning efforts for NIH-funded AD/ADRD research. This public session will also include an opportunity for the public to share written comments with the committee.
