  • This event has passed.

December 17, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am EST

Approximately 75 million women in the U.S. are currently perimenopausal, menopausal, or postmenopausal. 1.3 million women enter menopause each year and will likely spend one-third to one-half of their lives postmenopausal, yet their health needs are often ignored or dismissed.

This briefing will provide a primer on the personal and societal impacts of menopause and explore policy steps that can be taken to improve women’s health. Hosts will discuss what women experience during this stage of life and its impact on them personally and professionally. They will also share the latest research on the economic impact of menopause and related midlife health conditions. And attendees will learn more about bipartisan policy solutions to improve women’s midlife health through greater focus on and resources for research, health professional training, care coordination and public awareness and education.
