Christine Harhaj

Christine Harhaj is Deputy Vice President, Advocacy and Strategic Alliances at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA).

PhRMA represents the country’s leading innovative biopharmaceutical research companies that are discovering and developing medicines that enable patients to live longer, healthier, and more productive lives. In this role, Christine leads stakeholder engagement and advocacy across constituencies and issue areas to drive patient-centered progress in innovation, affordability, and access to life-saving prescription medicines.

Prior to joining PhRMA, Christine was Health Policy Director for Anthem, Inc. (now Elevance Health). At Anthem, Christine oversaw the development of new research and analyses for a portfolio of Medicare issues that contributed objective, credible, and data-driven research and insights to help inform public policy and shape healthcare programs. She also supported Anthem’s Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D business units by working to shape specific regulatory and legislative policies in support of business goals and objectives.

Christine began her career at Avalere Health, a Washington, DC-based consulting and advisory firm, where she helped clients—including life sciences companies, health plans, and investors—navigate complex healthcare issues pertaining to Medicare Part D and the Affordable Care Act.
