Supporters of the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) gathered for SWHR’s 33rd Annual Awards Gala on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 to honor leaders who have devoted their careers to improving women’s health and women’s advancement in science and medicine.
Kaveeta Vasisht, MD, PharmD, Associate Commissioner for Women’s Health at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), received the Health Public Service Visionary Award. Meghan Feely, MD, FAAD, Board Certified Dermatologist and Executive Director at Eli Lilly & Company, presented the award.
Horizon Therapeutics received the Health Industry Visionary Award. Keli Walbert, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Horizon Therapeutics, accepted the award on behalf of Horizon. Gretta Stone, Executive Vice President at Reservoir Communications Group and SWHR Board Chair presented the award.
Pauline M. Maki, PhD, Senior Director of Research at the University of Illinois Chicago Center for Research on Women and Gender, received the Health Education Visionary Award. Sudip S. Parikh, PhD, CEO for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and executive publisher at the Science family of journals presented the award.
Julie Louise Gerberding, MD, MPH, Chief Executive Officer at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, joined the evening as the 2023 Keynote Speaker. SWHR Board Chair Gretta Stone and SWHR President and CEO Kathryn Schubert, MPP, CAE also gave opening remarks.
