The National Academies Forum on Advancing Diagnostic Excellence will host a hybrid public workshop on April 3 exploring ways to strengthen health care professional education and training in the diagnostic process and reduce diagnostic errors. Speakers will explore educational strategies within areas such as:
- The iterative and collaborative nature of the diagnostic process
- Patient- and community-centered approaches
- Strategies to improve communication, care coordination, and teamwork
- Factors that contribute to diagnostic disparities
- The appropriate use of diagnostic tests and technologies, including artificial intelligence, to support the diagnostic process
