  • This event has passed.

January 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

More than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths could be prevented, and yet in the U.S., the number of women dying after pregnancy is rising. Join Dr. Wanda Montalvo, Director, Evidence-Based and Integration Strategy at NACHC, Dr. Lisa Hollier the Senior Medical Advisor on the Maternal Mortality Prevention Team in the Division of Reproductive Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Brittany Behm from the CDC’s Division of Reproductive Health for an eye-opening discussion that challenges health centers to play a greater role in reducing pregnancy-related deaths.

Health center care teams are poised to listen to women after pregnancy and help them understand warning signs so they know when to seek urgent medical care. Learn how all health center staff encounters during the prenatal and postpartum period matter, from front desk to medical assistant, community health worker, doula, nurse, social worker, and clinicians. The CDC’s Hear Her Campaign toolbox can be a powerful asset for health center staff in educating the community about maternal warning signs to prevent life-threatening outcomes. Learn how CDC’s free Hear Her Campaign resources, created for patients in multiple languages, can help us reverse negative health outcomes for women postpartum.
