Women’s Health Research Congressional Roundtable and Advocacy Day, September 2025 Gallery

On Tuesday, September 16, a powerful coalition of congressional champions, women’s health advocates, and award-winning actresses Mandy Moore and Lupita Nyong’o gathered for a conversation about the urgent need to fund women’s health research. The women’s health research congressional roundtable and advocacy day was hosted by Society for Women’s Health Research and Perelel, led by SWHR president and CEO Kathryn Schubert, Perelel Health co-founder Alex Taylor, and Hannah Linkenhoker.

Members of Congress in the room included Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), Representative Julia Letlow (R-LA), Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), Representative Shontel Brown (D-OH), Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Ayanna Representative Pressley (D-MA), Representative Robin Kelly (D-IL), and Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM).

Women’s health advocates in the room included George Vradenburg and Meryl Comer with UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, Cindy Rahman with March of Dimes, Dr. Hy Simhan with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Emily Holubowich with the American Heart Association, Dr. Rebecca C. Thurston with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Molly Murray with Autoimmune Association, Claire Gill with Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation, Sateria Venable with The Fibroid Foundation, and Tanika Gray Valbrun with The White Dress Project.
