October 26 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
The Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation will honor cardiovascular champion Nanette Wenger, MD, MACC, MACP, FAHA, a pioneer and visionary in the field of cardiology, as the 2023 recipient of the Alma Dea Morani, MD Renaissance Woman award.
The Alma Dea Morani, MD Renaissance Woman Award, the most prestigious form of recognition, is given annually to a woman who has left a significant mark on their respective medical field and pivotally advanced the future of healthcare. Specifically, this award honors an outstanding woman physician or scientist who has furthered the practice and understanding of medicine in our lifetime and made significant contributions outside of medicine.
The Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation, formerly the Foundation for the History of Women in Medicine, was founded 25 years ago with the strong belief that understanding history plays a powerful role in shaping the future.
As part of the Alma Dea Morani award presentation, Dr. Wenger will give a lecture on “Cardiovascular Disease in Women: Epidemiology, Awareness, Access, and Delivery of Equitable Health Care.” Her focus on access and equity in women’s health provides timely insight to current healthcare issues.
Join the Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation and the New York Academy of Medicine in celebrating Dr. Wenger and all of her achievements at the virtual event on Thursday, October 26 at 4:00 PM ET.
