The Society for Women’s Health Research and The Fuchsia Tent have launched a national survey as part of a research study titled “Menopause at Work: From Echo Chamber to Mainstream Practice.” Read more about this work in the press release: SWHR and The Fuchsia Tent to Launch National Study to Define What Employers, Policymakers, and Women Want from Workplace Menopause Support.

The survey aims to capture perspectives from five stakeholder groups: employees experiencing menopause, HR and benefits decision-makers, people managers, senior leaders, and policy and health care stakeholders. Whether you are navigating the menopausal transition yourself, managing someone who is, or making decisions about benefits and policy, your perspective matters.

The numbers make the case:

  • 1.3 million women enter menopause annually in the United States
  • Women over 50 are the fastest-growing workforce segment
  • The annual cost to employers is estimated at $26.6 billion

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should take the survey?

Everyone with a stake in this issue — U.S. workers of all genders, HR and benefits decision-makers, people managers, senior leaders, policy and health care stakeholders, and anyone navigating the menopausal transition at work. This study is designed to hear from all sides, not just people experiencing menopause.

How long does the survey take?

Approximately 12 minutes. All responses are confidential and reported in aggregate.

When does the survey close?

April 16, 2026.

Who is behind this research?

This is a partnership between the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) and The Fuchsia Tent. The study includes a 1,500+ person national survey and four regional roundtables to produce the evidence that employers, policymakers, and health care leaders need to take action.

What will the findings be used for?

Results will be published in a co-branded report and policy brief later in 2026. The findings will inform employer recommendations, policy advocacy, and a benchmarking framework for workplace menopause support.
